We Are Meant to Learn Love

Many of us have or have had this idea that relationships are supposed to be all fluffy and perfect by default, otherwise they are not worth being in.⠀

Truth is relationships are for us to go deeper, grow, learn about ourselves and the world, clean some karma and learn to love.⠀

All this might come one way or another, but at times will be a rocky road.⠀

Have you ever noticed that so many relationships end around the third year into dating/marriage?⠀

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 is usually some sort of honeymoon phase, both people compromise, idealise, pretend they like things they don't... Because it's exciting, sex is probably good, they are in love and infatuated by each other...⠀

𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 masks start falling off, both sides are less willing to compromise, they get triggered by small things (which is actually built up resentment from the first year when they didn't express their boundaries or dislikes). They fight more often, infatuation is probably gone. If they didn't work on their relationship and opening of their hearts, by this time there is no true love between them, just a habit of being together and a growing dissatisfaction on both sides.⠀

Then the 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 comes and things are so bad that nobody is even trying anymore, both sides slowly wither away until one starts cheating or falls in love with someone else and then the break up finally comes to stop the misery.⠀

This can be prevented with awareness and desire to grow, change and learn to love. ⠀

If both people are committed to going deeper into friendship and partnership, there has to be open communication, honesty and understanding from the very beginning.⠀

So relationship is not going to be all flowers and butterflies, but 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 will grow and you will make it through the difficult days.⠀

Now if one or both partners don't do the work, the same pattern will repeat in their next relationship and the next and the next....⠀

There is no running away!⠀

We are all meant to learn love, for ourselves and others.⠀
